



MITA WELCOMES PUTRAJAYA MOVE TO DISSOLVE SPAD

The Malaysian Inbound Tourism Assocoation (MITA) welcomes the latest announcement by YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir over it’s decision to dissolve the Land Public Transport Commision (SPAD). MITA members numbering 1,500 applauds this latest move as they have been facing many unsolved issues with SPAD despite holding meetings and discussion with them.
MITA President, En Uzaidi Udanis says that prior to this, Tour vehicles were governed and can be summoned by the Police, JPJ and SPAD.
He hopes that the Government will also look into MITA’s request of handing back the jurisdiction of Tour vehicles back to the Ministry of Tourism (MOTAC).
